Flat Out of Heels Founder and CEO was selected to attend, speak, and exhibit Flat Out of Heels at the Inaugural White House Summit on The United State of Women in Washington, D.C. June 13-15, 2016.
On June 13, Dawn was a panelist at the United State of Women Entrepreneurship Summit. The event was hosted by The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in cooperation with The White House Council on Women and Girls to celebrate the achievements of women entrepreneurs and address challenges women entrepreneurs encounter. Dawn spoke on a panel focused on innovations for women and working families, Dawn shed insight as an award-winning entrepreneur raising capital to scale.
On June 14, the United State of Women Summit kicked off at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, over 5,000 women were in attendance. Speakers included President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet and many other leaders in politics, business, and entertainment.
In addition to attending this monumental event, Flat Out of Heels was one of the 50 companies selected to exhibit at the State of Women.
